Current mood: pretty

All right, I splurged
But I haven't been clothes shopping in a year, probably. (I'm not lying...the last thing I bought were two pairs of blue jeans on clearance sometime in the summer, because I have literally worn my other blue jeans until my ass fell out of them. And I'm still wearing them for work clothes.)

So I hit the clearance racks. I found a cute little plaid skirt, a black corset-like top, and another black cotton top. Was $5 and $7 for the tops and $16 for the skirt. And then they had the wallflower units for half price, so I stocked up (lots of cherry blossoms, sweet pea, and cinnamon, I think it was.) $24 well spent, and it's going to last for many months. Aaaaand then I treated myself to the totally useless Webkinz horse figurine and a pack of trading cards (again, my first purchase of Webkinz good since last fall, IIRC.)

A bit more expensive than I wanted, but the hell with it. I deserved it for all the shit I've had to deal with since December. I might as well make myself feel pretty for a bit. (NB, Lolitas are bribed with fancy clothes. And small dogs.)

Amen. I haven't been clothes shopping, or really splurged on myself since last October (before family birthday and xmas season shopping kicked in). True, I did buy 2 shirts on sale at Kohls 2 months ago, but that was it.

Admittedly, I have bought myself yarn and spinning fiber, so I guess I have to say I haven't totally gone without. But I still think I could use a good spoil-myself-shopping-spree. The problem? As usual, lack of funds. Of course, I think this month I get to see that "economic stimulus" bonus check from the government. Assuming it's not for $32.74 or something tiny like that, maybe then I can treat myself.

Yeah, I haven't totally gone without either (I try to keep up with the new MLPs, or you never get them later without paying jacked up ebay prices.) But it feels a bit like I'm deprived. My income tax refunds went for basics (backed up bills owed to los padres.) I wanted that to be put away for the inevitable house hunt... =/
