12:08 am - Tired... Am absolutely pooped. What did I do?
1. Played Neopets (TRAITOR!!!)
2. Played Webkinz (but couldn't do much since they're, uh, "fixing" something and the site is acting like it took some barbituates.)
3. Neighbor knocked on the door; madre answered. Thought the neighbor had an issue with limbs or something being down on his fence at PJ's house, as he wanted PJ or her grandmother's number. Then found out -- this is rich -- he wants his fucking houseguests to STAY AT MY HOUSE. (Okay, I don't own it, but I spend half my time over there.) I was livid when madre told me that -- had she told me to begin with, I'd have said no way right then. There is one, and only one, room they could possibly sleep in -- MINE! Fuck no. If you can have house guests, you can find somewhere for them to sleep or get them a hotel room. My house is not your goddamn hotel.
More practically, the cats will piss on all their valuables and possibly attack them if they act like assholes. The dog...she probably wouldn't care, but still.
More practically for ME, I don't want to pay for someone else to use up water/gas/electricity. Also, I have valuables that I could get violent about being broken/maimed/stolen...I don't know who the hell these people are, so my trust is NIL.
Just remember...I know how to change locks, and I'm NOT above doing a last minute switchout if anyone thinks they're getting in my house for a sleepover...
4. Walked and then washed Aries. Then gave her a trim in the face area while I had her wrangled in the tub. She might look bad once she dries...but the hair was all matted and needed to be cut. Besides, she already hated me for the whole bath thing, so I might as well do all the evils at one time.
5. Put in a load of laundry. Thought washer was going to die. It was definitely worse than last time. Sounded like a train was aiming for the bathroom. =/
6. Halfheartedly cleaned the bathroom. Severus tried to "help" me by turning the hot water on before he fell in the tub. Oscar's pissed on something in there, and I can't find it. =/ I used some vinegar on the floor and crossed my fingers.
7. PS, Oscar thinks the tub of dirt I got to grow the cat grass is a third litterbox. I WONDERED why the grass was dying. Now I know.
8. Sat with Severus on the stairs for a while. Oscar won't sit on my lap -- his loss. Felt disheartened that I still didn't get enought spackle in some of those nail holes. But I really like the crisp white paint on the side I finished. It looks so clean now!
9. Made mental list of things I need...more sisal rope, one of those paint roller extender thingies, and see if they make an extenda-corner doohickey to get the tall parts in the stairway. Also need tons of floor jacks. Maybe I'm just paranoid, but the kitchen scares me -- I'm afraid one day the dog will be in the basement.... Also, I want to make sure that if/when my fishtank moves over, I can actually fill it all the way up.
10. The freezer has stopped icecube production, yey! Now to get a replacement part...if you can replace it...might need the whole frelling tray. =P
11. Watered Philolita and the rest of the plant horde. Resolved to clean ponyroom.
12. Crept home with every intention of cleaning the fishtank....
13. Felt miserable, so I just had a whole tub of chocolate ice cream.
Maybe I can get madre to take Aries for a walk tomorrow or Monday so I can vacuum the house. One of the kitties had an upset tummy and barfed right beside the litterbox. Most likely Oscar the neatfreak freaked out and tried to cover the barf...with the contents of the litterbox. It ain't pretty. I'm afraid to put Aries outside again after her last tangle-me-up trick (the bottom stair is horrible and dangerous and I don't recommend going out there at all!) but I can't vacuum while she's inside...
I also had to throw out the dropcloth I was using, because Oscar balled it up and peed on it at some point. I figure I got three rooms painted with a dollar dropcloth, so I shouldn't be too upset...but...well, you know. I hate to be without a dropcloth when there's painting to be done. Current Mood: cold

09:15 pm - Dear Oscar PLEASE stop pissing on the clean laundry.
I know it was your blanket. Really, I did! But you did not have to climb in the dryer and pee on it for me to know that.
I do not appreciate having to do the laundry twice. Just FYI, Oscar.

I'm gonna have to do something about the upstairs closet. The cats have pulled the string holding PJ's door closed loose enough so that they can wiggle in...and pee on stuff. ARGH! Good thing I already got most of the stuff out of there when I found the cats were climbing up the dresses and such. I'll just have to lock the critters in the bathroom while I move stuff out and into the upstairs office...and then try to disinfect and deodorize the closet. And THEN try to make sure it will stay closed.

I took an expedition into the garage tonight to search for the extender pole thing, and I think I found it! One less thing I have to buy. I would love to rip that fake brick siding off that garage. The wood looks great on the inside. The roof also looks in good shape -- what I can see, anyway. A project for the summer, I suppose.

I think I changed my mind about the favorite Lovecraft story. I enjoyed "The Mound" a bit more than "Rats in the Walls." I had about 90% of it figured out halfway through, but that's okay. It was sufficiently different to interest me. I've noticed that the ones he wrote in collaboration with someone else are generally more enjoyable than his own creations. *shrugs*
I had the urge to get my Coldfire books out again so I could take a break from Lovecraft. You'd think I'd get sick of reading those at some point, wouldn't you? Ah well. I missed my New Year's reading festival, so it's no wonder I'm feeling the loss. I'm behind! The end might have magically fixed itself this time; I have to read it again to make sure. ;) Current Mood: cold
